Issue
- I am encountering the following error when attempting to send emails using Jakarta Mail (version 2.0.1) within my Liferay environment.
javax.mail.Provider:com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPProvider not a subtype
Resolution
- Liferay versions prior to the Jakarta namespace transition do not support jakarta.mail. You can learn more about the Jakarta namespace transition here:
- For now, you need to continue using javax.mail or migrate your portlet code to use the Liferay mail API.
